PV Plants with Trackers
Solar tracking photovoltaic (PV) technology suitable for areas with medium to intense sunlight. Solar PV is reliable, with years of proven operation and more than 7 GW installed worldwide. Tracking PV systems are used in many areas because of their distributed energy potential and low maintenance costs.

The technology that Abengoa Solar installs with its tracking PV systems, Copero PV, is proprietary.
The technology
Abengoa Solar installs PV systems that use 1-axis and 2-axis tracking. Tracking the sun results in significantly higher performance when compared to fixed PV systems. 1-axis tracking improves yield by about 20% and 2-axis tracking improves yield by about 35%.
Research and development
Abengoa Solar invests heavily in the R&D of new photovoltaic materials and designs. Abengoa Solar's research groups collaborate with institutions and research centers to improve concentration, thin film and conventional silicon technology. The PV laboratory assesses the performance of different PV technologies.
